Knight of Cancer, Death Mask appears like a killer without neither faith

Athena Goddess by conviction, but simply because the law of the strongest
- the Pope - is always the best. Killed by Dragon Shiryu during the battle
of the Sanctuary, he will be brought back to life by Hades, just like
Saga, Camus, Shura and Aphrodite, and sent to the Sanctuary to bring back
the head of Athena to the God of Deaths. Just like his companions, he will
fight the cause of Athena in secrecy. And will be punished the same way as
the other gold knights...

Undoubtedly for me, the
psychology
of Death Mask
is
the
most poorly
developed in the manga. Kurumada made of him a simple killer, without
soul, without faith, nor
law. An uninteresting character?
No,
he’s far away from being uninteresting. And it’s easy to any fanfic writer
(cancer or not) to take advantage of this lack and to treat unexplored
parts of the soul of Angelo *: his past, his thoughts, his regrets.
But
one thing bothered me trying to work on the subject: Death Mask was too
corrupt and rotten to make him back, full with right intentions, under the
pretext of his resurrection and the psychological changes resulting from
this. It’s at that point that I imagine the fusion of his soul with
Lorenzo Mastroiani, the young inspector of Naples, It allowed me to
justify without too much inconsistency his complete change
of character. Angelo, whose good sides have been
incredibly developed, is more
vulnerable to the remorse, doubts, hesitation, and any
form of feelings which the first killer of the Sanctuary had learned to
ignore, or to despise.

match
at all with the
nature
original character? It seems to me that it is the most frequent name used
for DM in fictions.
