This
chronology is based on some elements coming from the Saint Seiya
Encyclopedia, the Taizen, explanations on
http://cyna.net
and
http://www.saintseiya.com, and has been
adapted in order to suit the story of the Chronicles of Ermengardis.
Thus, it doesnt correspond to the real chronology of the Manga and of
the Anime. Its purpose is to be a base for the scenario for the
writing of the story, and includes several
spoilers about the whole story of the Chronicles. |

|
260 BC: Plain of Peloponnesus. Marius, a Roman centurion,
fights against a demon, half-human, and half-bat, escaped from the army
of Ares in rout. Blocked in a cave, he survives by drinking the blood of
the monster he killed.
The first vampire is born.
180 BC: Marius arrives at the Sanctuary of Athena. He turns
Deianeira, the girl of the Pope, into a vampire. They kill several
Silver and Bronze knights, and escape.
50
BC: Marius and Deineira arrive to the declining Babylon.
Marius kills a Great Priest and Deianeira turns in vampire his daughter,
Ishara.
From 1st to 4th century,
Marius, Ishara, Deianeira and Glaucus terrorize the Central and
Mediterranean Europe, although their itinerary hasnt been clearly
established.
350:
Plains of Hungary: Marius fights a barbarian clan. He transforms
in vampire their two chiefs and brothers of blood, Adorjān and Lôrinc.
450: Germany. Marius and his growing clan (Deianeira, Ishara,
Glaucus, Adorjān and Lôrinc) run up against German knights, and massacre
them. He sires the two survivors - Amalric and Luitgard.
Ishara and Amalric fall in
love.
From the 6th to the 12th
century, the clan is seen in Northern and Central Europe, on the banks
of the Mediterranean Sea, and even in Persia.
During these centuries,
Marius starts to constitute an army of his similar.
646: the army of Marius besieges the castle of Szeged, (North
of Hungary). Luitgard and Amalric change Bālint and Gābor, the heirs of
the Lord of Szeged, in vampires.
1163: Beginning of the Construction of Notre-Dame of Paris.
1170:
In reaction to the attacks of the gargoyles on the site of
Notre-Dame de Paris, and the death of her husband, killed by one of
them, Ermengard creates "the Army of the Companions of the Light".
1175: Marius and his clan arrive to
Paris. Beginning of massacres.
1176-1178:
Amalric is victim of a magic spell of Adalbert, wizard and
lieutenant of Ermengard.
To avenge him, Marius
attacks the headquarters of the Army, kills Adalbert and transforms
Ermengard, and then burns the castle.
Ermengard joins the clan of
Marius. Hiding her face behind a mask, she takes the name of "Geldis the
Cruel".
Being unaware of the true
destiny of Ermengard, the survivors rename their army "Order of
Ermengardis", and a new headquarters established in London.
Ishara tries to release
Amalric of the magic spell, in vain. She sinks into madness.
1250: The Master of Ermengardis,
Landoald, creates an armed militia within the Order of Ermengardis: the
Black Militia. The sign of recognition of the members is a ring of
blackthorns tattoos on the chest.
1348:
Venice. Sylvenius makes the portrait of Bālint and Gābor.
1478:
Wessex, Cornouailles. Pushed back by the Black
Militia, the Clan of Marius separates. Ishara and Deianeira take refuge
in a castle, kill the Lord of Wessex and transform his daughter, Eleny,
in vampire.
1490: The Clan of Marius reforms in London. Strong of an army
of several hundreds of vampires, Marius attacks the headquarters of the
Order of Ermengardis and destroys it.
The survivors of the Order and the Militia flee in Greece, and ask the
help of the Sanctuary.
1491:
Marius mobilizes a part of his army, and attacks the Company of
Ermengardis, based on the island of Telemny, 150 km in the South of the
Sanctuary.
Athena sends 5 Gold knights to help Hademar, the leader of the Black
Militia of Ermengardis: the knights of Aquarius, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio
and Capricorn.
The army of Marius is defeated, and the Great Ancients - Marius, Geldis,
Deianeira, Ishara, Glaucus, Adorjān, Lôrinc and Luitgard- are clasped in
sealed coffins, in the temple of the Island of Telemny.
Deprived of their chiefs, the vampires go underground.
1510-1520: Leopold becomes the Great Master of the Order of
Ermengardis.
The Island of Telemny remains under the control of Ermengardis. The Great
Library is built.
New Headquarter is settled in London, on the ruins of the previous one,
burn during the past century.

March: Wolrad, former lieutenant of
Adorjān rebuild a small army and destroys a part
of the Great Library.
The vampires are pushed back once more
by a coalition between the black militia and the knights of Athena.
September: Wolrad disappear after his ultimate defeat.
1490 - 1600:
Eleny take up residence in Paris. The Court of the Miracles becomes her
hunting ground.
1600:
Eleny goes back to London. She meets Bālint and
helps him to prepare the assassination of the Great Priest of
Ermengardis.
June: Bālint
fails in his attempt to murder the Priest and is captured. He is
condemned to an "exemplary" execution.
Sept. 2: Bālint
escapes from the shaft where he was trapped, and disappears without
trace.
1602:
Eleny falls in love with of a young noble, James Gladestone, and turns him
into vampire.
Bālint
comes back to London and ask help to Eleny and James.
1610: Bālint disappears
once again.
1610 - 1742:
the movements of James and Eleny are unknown. It is supposed that they
foam all Europe, from Western to Eastern. |

Juil: James and Eleny arrive
nearby the Sanctuary.
Sep. The files of the Sanctuary
report the crimes of two creatures in the neighbor villages.

1743:
Jan - James and Eleny arrive at
the Castle of Wivern and massacre his occupants. All belonged to the
army of Hades, and two specter are among the victims.
In punishment, Hades returns their souls to the two vampires.
Mar - James and Eleny are
discovered almost dying by the squadron of London.
Jun - James and Eleny are transferred
to the Prison of London from Ermengardis. They are pardoned by the Great
Council and condemned toRehabilitation".
1743-1850:
James and Eleny are with the purgatory of Ermengardis and undergo their
rehabilitation. No conflict marks this period.
The Black Militia
is dissolved and replaced by squadrons, detach in the large
European capitals: Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Florence,
Warsaw, Saint-Petersbourg and Vienna.
The Company of Ermengardis reaches
the 250 members, and adopts its modern structure: Great Master, great
advisers, squadrons (compose of the Squadron Master, slayers, magicians,
officers and soldiers), and physicists and scientists.
1851: Judged as able to serve Ermengardis, James and Eleny
are affected to the Squadron of London.
Ermengardis includes 550 members in
Europe.
1875:
James takes the rank of Master of the Squadron of London.
Ermengardis includes 850 members in
Europe.
1900: In spite of sharp protests of half of the Great
Council, James and Eleny are named members of the Council.
Their election is supported by the Great
Counselor Emeric, who considers the two repented vampires as potential
leaders.
Ermengardis includes 1550 members in
Europe, half of them being involved in the squadrons.
1914: 1st World war.
Ermengardis withdraws from the zone
of conflict in Europe.
The squadrons are deployed on the
continents American and Asian.
1939-1945: 2d World war.
Ermengardis suspends its activities
temporarily. Each member is free to come back in his country to defend
his fatherland against the Nazism.
1945:
Resumption of the activities of Ermengardis. The
Order extends his network in practically all the countries of the
sphere. |

Arrival at the Sanctuary of
Aldebaran, Shaka, Milo, Camus and Mu.
Jul. 22 - Reincarnation of
Athena. Saga locks up Canon in the prison of the Cape Sunion. The same
evening he goes to Star Hill and kills the Pope (Sion) to take the head
of the Sanctuary. He's followed by Aphrodite.
Jul. 24 - The malefic
double of Saga attempts to kill Athena. Aiolos stops him and flees with
Athena. He is deadly injured by Shura. Before he dies, he leaves the
baby to the care of Mitsumasa Kido.
Sep. 9: Birth of Shun
Dec.1: Birth of Seiya
1980: the Bronze knights are sent to their places of
training.
1986:
Sep, 10 - the Intergalactic
Tournament is announced by the media.
Sep, 17 - Beginning of the
Intergalactic Tournament in Japan, organized by Saori Kido.
Sep, 21 - the Intergalactic
Tournament is stopped by Ikki, Knight of Phenix, who steals the armor.
Oct, 05 - The Bronze
Knights leave to fight Ikki and the Black Knights.
1987:
Feb, 21 - Seiya is at the
hospital and is attacked by Shina, then by the Lion Gold knight, Aiolia.
Feb, 24 - Aiolia goes to
the Palace of the Pope and requires seeing Athena.
Mar, 3 - the Bronze Knights
arrive at the Sanctuary to fight the Gold Knights. Death of Shura,
Camus, Aphrodite, Death Mask and Saga.
Mar, 21 - Birthday of
Julian Solo, who becomes 16. He discovers that it is the reincarnation
of Poseidon
Mar, 24 - Beginning of the
floods everywhere in the world.
Apr, 3 - Athena follows
Sorrento to the kingdom of Poseidon. Battle between the Bronze Knights
and the Generals of the Seas. Poseidon is defeated.
Apr, 5 - Hades, brought to
life, order an attacks on the Sanctuary, using the dead knights against
their peers. The Gold knights are decimated.
Apr, 6 - Victory o Athena
against the Army of Hades
Seiya falls in catatonia.
Sep - Artemis takes the
control of the Sanctuary of Athena.
The Bronze knights push back her, and her brother, Apollo. |

Sep, 4 1988 - The Sanctuary of Athena
is officially attached to Olympia by the will of Zeus, eager to stop
wars between gods.
This decision prevents Apollo or
Artemis to attack the Sanctuary of Athena, who
remains the Guardian of the Sanctuary. |

Mar, 8 1989 - the Order of Ermengardis sends emissaries to
advise the sanctuary that Ares has been brought to life and intends to
start a new war.
1989 - 1993
- Ermengardis and the Sanctuary of Athena prepares for the attack.
1993, January
2 and following days.
Ares launches an attack against the
Sanctuary of Athena and causes against him the lightings of Zeus.
Zeus locks up the soul of Ares in a sealed
amphora.
He declares the Sanctuary of Athena under his personal
administration, and forbids to any divinity of Olympia to carry out any
punitive or conquest war on the ground of the planet.
Athena is asked to join the Pantheon, like Poseidon and Apollo. The
Sanctuary of Athena becomes the Terrestrial Sanctuary of Olympia, the
only place in the Planet where the Olympia Gods are allowed to stay.
Ermengardis is entrusted with
the mission that the Sanctuary had played until: protection of the
planet against the malefic forces. The knights of Athena are requested
to join the army of Ermengardis or to give up their title.
Those provisions constitute the
"Peace Agreement" between Olympia and Ermengardis.
Feb.
1993:
Height
knights of Athena and their amours join Ermengardis: Shina, Marine,
Sorrento, Thetis. Seiya, Shun, Hyoga, Shiryu and Ikki decline the offer,
but remain "available" to Ermengardis.
1993-2003:
the situation remains unchanged.
1994:
Ermengardis sets up its Headquarters in Japan, 150 km away from Tokyo.
1996:
Shina, Marine, Thetis and Sorrento become Masters of Squadron.
Shina is affected in France, Marine in the Eastern Coast of the US,
Sorrento in North Africa, Thetis in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Juil: Ambre is assigned to the orders of Shina.
1997:
Willengard joined the Squadron of Paris.
Nov, 30
2003:
The Squadron led by Shina wounds the Minotaur, who has committed exactions
in the south of France.
Dec. 2,
2003:
Apollo summons the Great Masters Eleny and James with the Terrestrial
Field...
